Mogelijk toch weer onderzoek naar de Markthal
Ondernemers in de Rotterdamse Markthal hebben crisismanager Theo Terdu gevraagd een onderzoekscommissie in het leven te roepen. Daarmee moet de patstelling tussen standhouders en eigenaar Klépierre doorbroken worden.
Terdu kreeg de vraag van de ondernemers enkele weken terug, vertelt hij aan RetailTrends. Hij wacht nu op concrete onderzoeksvragen die de commissie zou moeten beantwoorden. Die zouden wat hem betreft kunnen gaan over de branchemix en de logistiek in de hal. Resultaten van het onderzoek zouden ook in de rechtszaal van pas kunnen komen, want over veel geschillen lopen momenteel gerechtelijke procedures. “Zo is er nu weer veel herrie over de servicekosten”, zegt Terdu. “Het blijft één groot dramacentrum.”
De oproep tot een onafhankelijk onderzoek volgt op een lange periode van stilte rond de Rotterdamse Markthal. Een plan voor een nieuwe invulling onder de noemer Markthal 2.0 liep vorig jaar definitief stuk. De ondernemersverenigingen zijn ‘slapend’ gegaan en ook de gemeente Rotterdam speelt geen actieve rol meer in de discussie.
Klépierre laat in een schriftelijke reactie weten dat de Markthal vorig jaar 5,9 procent meer bezoekers heeft getrokken dan het jaar ervoor. Ook 2020 wordt met vertrouwen tegemoet gezien. ‘Met de ondernemersvereniging in de Markthal is structureel overleg, onder andere over de marketing en communicatie’.
